Before you book

Clear answers for common travel questions.

Use these FAQs as a starting point for tickets, documents, insurance, check-in, changes, and support. Final rules can vary by airline, supplier, country, and travel date.

Need a case-specific answer?

Send your passenger details, travel dates, destination, and booking reference so the team can check the correct file.

What is an e-ticket?

An e-ticket is the electronic record of your airline ticket. Your itinerary or ticket receipt includes the airline confirmation code and ticket details. At the airport, use your valid travel document and the airline's check-in process to obtain a digital or printed boarding pass.

Why are the fares different from other sites?

Airfares change frequently based on seat availability, fare class, route, travel dates, baggage, refund conditions, and airline promotions. Our agents compare suitable options available at the time of your request and explain the important fare rules before ticketing.

How do I cancel this reservation?

Contact Kataria Travel as soon as possible with your booking reference. Cancellation, refund, credit, and date-change options depend on the airline and fare rules. Some tickets are non-refundable, and airline penalties plus service fees may apply.

How do I book airline tickets?

Use our flight request form to share your departure city, destination, dates, passenger count, cabin preference, and budget. An agent can compare routes and fare conditions, or you can use our online booking portal to search and book available flights directly.

Can I book a ticket for tomorrow?

Last-minute flights may be available, but options, fares, document checks, and ticketing deadlines become more limited close to departure. Contact us promptly with complete passenger and travel details so we can check current availability.

How do I join a flying tour?

Check whether the package includes airfare and review the required meeting and departure times. For land-only tours, we can help arrange flights that arrive before the tour begins and depart after the final scheduled activity.

Is travel insurance really necessary?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended because provincial health plans, airline policies, and credit card benefits may not cover every medical emergency or trip disruption. Coverage varies, so review the policy limits, exclusions, eligibility, and claim requirements before purchase.

Can I obtain my boarding pass before I get to the airport?

Most airlines offer online or mobile check-in, commonly opening about 24 hours before departure. Visit the operating airline's website or app with your booking reference. Airport document verification may still be required for some international journeys.

What do I need to avoid packing in my carry-on bag?

Do not pack prohibited weapons, flammable materials, explosives, or restricted liquids in your carry-on baggage. Rules can differ by airport, airline, and country, especially for batteries, medication, food, and duty-free liquids. Check official security and airline guidance before packing.

When do I need to be at the airport to check in for my flight?

Follow the airline and airport's current guidance. Travellers are commonly advised to arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights, with extra time during holidays, at large airports, or when document checks are required.

What kind of documentation do I need to travel?

Required documents depend on your citizenship, residence status, destination, transit points, and travel purpose. International travellers generally need a valid passport and may also need visas, permits, return or onward tickets, insurance, or supporting documents. Confirm official requirements before departure.

Will I be charged currency conversion or card fees?

Your quote or invoice identifies the transaction currency. A card issuer may apply foreign exchange, cross-border, or other processing fees depending on the card and billing currency. Contact your bank for charges that are not collected by Kataria Travel or the travel supplier.

I have duplicate charges for the same trip on my account.

First confirm whether one item is a temporary authorization and identify the merchant name for each posted charge. Airlines and other suppliers may bill separately. If two completed charges appear to cover the same service, contact us with the invoice and transaction details so we can investigate.

What can a travel insurance plan cover?

Depending on the policy, benefits may include emergency medical care, trip cancellation or interruption, travel delay, baggage loss or delay, and emergency transportation. Covered reasons, limits, deductibles, exclusions, and pre-existing condition rules vary by plan; the policy wording controls every claim.

What if there is a travel emergency?

Use the emergency assistance number in your insurance policy and contact the airline or supplier affected by the disruption. Keep receipts, medical reports, delay notices, and other supporting documents. Coverage and reimbursement depend on the policy terms and the insurer's claim decision.

Should I cancel my booking before filing an insurance claim?

Notify Kataria Travel, the airline, or the relevant supplier promptly so available credits or refunds are not lost. Also contact the insurer before making decisions where possible. Cancelling a booking does not guarantee claim approval; the insurer will assess the reason and supporting documents under the policy.
